SyncEXP v1.92
SyncEXP v1.92
Description
A small and powerful piece of Windows application that can synchronize files and folders within a LAN or a single PC in a bliss. It works much faster and more versatile than the file transfer function of pcAnywhere and as such. Check existence/time/date/size of items. Optimized file comparison algorithm. Automatic activity log. Progress report window. Preview of action.
SyncEXP is a green software (or a "widget" as some will call) which is free from dll and can be run from USB disk. No installation to the client computer is ever required. It works even if software installs are prohibited. When USB disk is pulled out, the synchronizer detaches from the computer.
Even better, it is a fully functional FREEWARE. Platform: Win9x/me/2000/nt/xp.
We are upgrading the SyncEXP soon and therefore cease distributing the freeware until further notice.
In the mean time you can download its sister product SyncEXPnet for even more features. Visit the site for details:

Great software, ehm, not great but the best I have found!!!
but i can imagine 2 more features ;o)
1. possibility to start synchronization by double clicking the task name (just for lazy people like me, but can imagine to live without it :o) )
2. in sync management, there are two buttons for choosing, whether to show all files or only different files in the selected folder ... it would be great to have one more option, to show different files from selected folder including subfolders (or maybe easier one, just to show all different files from the whole tree) ... question why - again for lazy people, when having larger tree but only few files to sync
Even without these things is your software the best one I have found.
Thanks for your work and be sure that when I got some money I'll donate something (still a student :o( )

By selecting "Only include following sub-folder" option, can SyncExpert compare files in added subfolders only ("Include sub-folder" option is selected). Files in deeper subfolders are not compared.

Thank you for this perfect freeware! I have tried so many programs for backup and sync with
my USB sticks but this is the best. Even better than expensive commercial software! It makes absolutely reliable copies the easy way! Thanks again, you made me happy!

Nice program :-)
1. Version 1.92 still says 1.91 in the 'about' screen
2. would be nice if the delta's tree and summary at the end of each task are optional (so I can have serveral tasks running and finish during lunch)

Really good and usefull. Thanks. It does exactly what I expected from a SW for syncronisation of files. I use it mostly for backup purpose. Easy to use, effective in functionality.

a great piece of software, thanks for it!! I'am using it for some weeks.
It appears to be surprisingly slow while synchronizing JPG files from or to USb key (2 or 3 MB each),
though "normal speed" for any other file type (including "big" ppt with pictures in!!!)
any idea??

There should be option to not show the tree. If you sync a big folder it takes a lot of time....just make a list of tasks in background and start syncing :) No need to do adjustments in most situations
Also the sync dialog with progress bars should be wider as file names go out of the window....can you use standard progress bars?..great that you use the animation from shell32 directly...works even with customized windowz !:D
